[ You would think that after a day like today, Roahn would want to go straight home from work, but the little bit of extra drive time from work to the store and from the store home actually gives him a chance to unwind a little. He's not terribly tense, but he'd rather not go straight home and unload all of the stress from his afternoon onto Nehl if he can help it.
Because Roahn loathes to be late, he wastes no time at the store, knowing precisely where he needs to go to get what he came for and declining any help offered to him along the way. Fortunately, the roads on the way home are a little clearer than they usually would be, which is about the only reason he's thankful for having been held up a little later at work.
Twenty-seven minutes later, Roahn's stepping through the front door of their home, a paper bag in one hand and his keys in the other. He nudges the door closed gently with the heel of his shoe and reaches to hang his keys on the hook just as Zeda wanders out from the living room to greet him, lazily stretching her back legs out, and then both of her front legs at the same time. ]
Look at you, [ He says quietly but fondly, smiling faintly as he bends to pass a gloved hand down the back of her head. She sits and purrs and presses up into the touch before wandering away like she's bored, as most cats are wont to do. ]
[Hes been busy the entire twenty seven minutes, preparing the pasta and setting the table. By the time he hears the door open and the familiar greeting to Zeda everything is plated and he's just pouring the last of their wine into tall glasses. The majority of dishes are done and he's packed away extra food into the fridge. He's gotten pretty good at knowing how much Roahn will eat.
Moving into the entrance to greet Roahn with a peck to the cheek, Nehl takes the bag from him.]
Here, I'll feed Zeda, go wash up for dinner.
[Take off that coat and shoes, maybe change into a more comfy shirt, splash a bit of water on his face. Get work off him and all that. Leaving Roahn to do as he will, he feeds the cat as he said and puts the coffee away and sets the new bottle of wine on the table if they need it.]
